Exploring SoCal: Marina Del Mar/Rey

So Cheryl and I wanted to see just how far we were from the beach. With clear blue skies above and dressed in our bathing suits, we threw some beach towels in the car and headed west. 15 minutes down Washington Blvd. and we dead ended in Marina Del Mar/Ray - haven't figured out which is where yet. I have NEVER lived that close to the beach before and let me tell you something, summer is going to be AMAZING. All we need right now is a gym membership and some beach paraphernalia and we'll be set to go. Anyway, we made due with what we had and just enjoyed the beautiful day at the beach.

What better way to proclaim your undying love for one another than writing it in the sand. Right?

Cheryl's prize winning photograph. I still think she's hiding some secret talent - only to give me brief glimpses every once in a while to torment me.

My artistic photographic rebuttal.

She never said anything about silhouette shots. ;)

And of course, the sandcastle. A must for any beach excursion.

Bold and edgy, yet practical and sophisticated...

but danger lurks beyond the dunes...

Let's just say it made for a very bittersweet 25 seconds.
