Back in the Swing o' Things

This blog is the official continuation of the last post and comes fully equipped with plenty of pictures to satisfy your image-deprived minds.

That being said, lets begin.

The first week of my break was spent spent hanging out with my cousins at the beach and taking a quick trip to Fresno. Since Cheryl needed the car to get to work, I took the train. Everyone was surprised to see me and it was great to spend some time with my sister Tammy before she went back to school on the east coast. My parents were leaving for Spain the same weekend Cheryl and I were planning on taking our NorCal road trip so it was nice seeing them as well.

As I mentioned in the previous post, the trip was kicked off with a family reunion filled with good times and great food. Sunday morning was spent in the glory of God's creation - the golf course. My brother-in-laws and I had a blast and I got to learn a thing or two about golf. 1) A 63 is a great score on a 18 hole course - not a 9. 2) If you find yourself throwing the ball farther than your hitting it, something is probably wrong about your technique. And lastly 3) Finishing the game with only 2 ball replacements is not a victory.

How many men does it take to put a backyard Jungle Gym together?

I'm becoming a fan of water activities as of late. Must be the weather.

Although this might not help my "coolness factor", no trip would be complete with out a full mouth cleaning. Cheryl's sister Marcie was a great patient and helped me stay sharp (no pun intended) for my upcoming appointment (Sept. 9th) with my first "REAL" patient.

5 months ago, Cheryl and I set out on a journey that would forever change the way we looked at the delicious oven-baked flat bread covered in tomato sauce, cheese, and various toppings called pizza. We gave it Up!

Oh glorious pizza - how we missed thee.

Cheryl and I made it a point to see as many friends along the way, and just some of them were Jennifer and her beautiful daughter Laynee. We had a great time playing with building blocks and dressing/undressing Poly Pocket - don't ask.

As if a relaxing weekend in beautiful Northern California wasn't enough, we decided to go on a little sunset sail on Whiskeytown Lake with Cheryl's Parents.

I didn't know being dragged behind a sailboat could be so much fun.

I worked on the bugs stuck to the windsheild while my little helper Tayden did away with the road grim on the side panels.

If only our kids would look this cute.

And be this much fun!

And a smile to say, goodnight. We had so much fun. What a blessing it's been to be a part of these children's lives. I only hope and pray that I have as much of a positive impact on their lives as they have had on mine. They keep me young and remind me that all it takes to turn your day around is a sloppy zerbert on the back.
