Greystone Park Revisited

Ever since the weather took a turn for the best (is that even a 'saying'), Cheryl and I have been racking our brains thinking of things to do outdoors. The only problem is, we are still in the same boat, financially, as we were this time last year. So, what better way to spend the last part of your weekend, without spending the last part of your loan check, than going to a beautiful park and having a romantic picnic.

Even though we wanted to try someplace new, Greystone Manor/Park has always had a special place in our hearts since the first time we visited. The manor is magnificent and only outdone by its surrounding gardens. Unfortunately, the last time we visited they were setting up for an evening event and closed off a portion of the grounds. This time however, we were able to explore the remaining portion of the gardens and manor.

This is the central courtyard. Isn't she absolutely gorgeous.

The gardens to the west.

The fountain of the west garden, complete with turtles!

For some reason, Cheryl has been on a door/doorway fix lately.
And so I give you ... Ode to Door(way).

This one is my favorite. Although you might think the photo is crooked, it's actually an optical illusion because of the shadowing. Cool huh?
