July 4th. Arguably Cheryl's favorite holiday. This year we decided we wanted to fly up to northern California to make the trip a little less tiresome. However, instead of flying out of LAX, we got a better deal on JetBlue, we departed out of Long Beach. What a quaint little airport.
Sadly, my study material had to come along.
On our drive up to Red Bluff from Sacramento, we stopped at a delicious deli called Granzella's.
A few years ago the entire building burnt down, but they have since rebuilt and it looks better than ever. They make some of the best sandwiches money can buy and if you find yourself passing through the city of Williams any time soon, stop by, you'll thank me later.
Although I am a Coca Cola fan, I can't help but appreciate the Wess family's die-hard allegience to Pepsi.
Cheyl and her sister Marcie put a hold on all the kitchen preparations to flash a pair of beautiful smiles for the camera.
Travis, Karen and Marcie starting the line for food. Ribs, beans, salad, dip and garlic bread. Doesn't get much better than that.
The little angel Alise having fun in her backyard swing.
Tayden got some belated birthday gifts and couldn't wait to play with them.
A vintage homemade ice cream maker.
Still makes some delicious vanilla ice cream.
After dinner at Cheryl's parents house, we all headed over to Tavis and Karen's for some more dessert and fireworks.
What was waiting for us was beyond our greatest imaginations. Hands down the MOST PATRIOTIC cakes we've ever seen.
Even the three tiers of cake where colored: Red, White, and Blue. A masterpiece.
Don't forget the classic pepsi bottles on ice to wash down all that red, white, and blue deliciousness.
What a fantastic weekend enjoying food, family, and friends. Here's a little video of us enjoying a neighbors firework show, ending the holiday with a bang!

I really miss flying JetBlue- the LB to Sacto flight was pretty standard for me! Also, gotta love the LB airport- it's TEENY!
