Apple Hill

If I could choose certain events in my life to turn into traditions, this would be one of them.  Apple Hill is charming little getaway located east a ways from Sacramento, near Placerville.  Known for it's fantastic fruit sold by multiple growers along a scenic drive.  From the name you could ascertain that the primary fruit sold this time of year are apples - tons of apples, sold by the box.  Each grower has a unique draw that keeps customers coming back year after year.  Bill's Apples, for instance, gives samples of each of their apples and is where Cheryl and I bought our first apple peeler corer slicer.  Rainbow farms has those delicious apple cider donuts which wash down perfectly with a glass of, you guessed it, fresh apple cider.  Regardless which of the over 30 growers you visit, you will have a blast, just like we did.

Never underestimate the power of the Bjorn.  Annabel was out like a light!

Incredibly delicious.

Susie got her box in preparation for the delicious apple sauce she makes every year.

The coolest part of our trip was the ability to just pick an apple off the tree and eat it.
I can honestly say, it was one of the freshest thing I've eaten my entire life.

After a fun-filled day, Susie continued her trip back to Red Bluff and Cheryl, Annabel, and I headed back down to Fresno.  I look forward to the years ahead when my children can enjoy these memories as much as I do now.
