East Coast Wedding

So I am finaly getting around to blogging about our trip to the east coast for my cousins wedding. Her family lives in New Jersey and her fiance's family is from Canada (Toronto to be exact). Being that the bride's family was the one planning the event, we were headed to New Jersey. No passports this time.

We took the red-eye on Thursday night to meet up with my parents at Newerk airport. Amazingly enough, we saw our family in the terminal and got to hang out a bit before our plane departed. They were also taking a red-eye flight but were headed into JFK instead. Although the flight itself wasn't too bad, trying to sleep next to Cheryl on an airplane is like trying to cuddle up next to paint mixer. She was always moving! At one point, I believe the gentlemen next to me had the pleasure of supporting my wife's legs as she stretched out across all of us!! 4 1/2 later we woke up to an east coast sunrise.

As soon as we get into Newark, we decide to drive into the city to visit Tammy's new apartment. Her building is right off the east river and the morning view was beautiful. We grabbed some groceries and made a quick breakfast. In the picture you can see the Queensboro bridge leading to Queens.

After some time spent in the city we headed back to New Jersey to get ready for the rehearsal dinner. It was a fun evening of loud music and a never-ending supply of food.

Cheryl was going to take a goofy picture of Alex, but a perfectly timed napkin to the face, compliments of yours truly, turned this goofy picture into an EPIC shot!

Unfortunately, our sweet tooth cravings were not fulfilled so...

No - that's not us. With no car, and a firm "No walk-up" policy at the corner Mcdonlad's, we had to get creative.

And by "creative", I meant bribing the next car in drive-thru.

Looks like we weren't the only ones who were excited about our icy treats. That's what you call a quality photo bomb.

Saturday was the wedding and we knew we were in for a long day. We wore this outfit for over 12 hours. At least we looked good!

A quick peak of the behind the scenes fun. My cousin looked beautiful - and stressed. But hey, this was her big day.

A classic car with a timeless look. Not quite my style, but since the chauffeur insisted on taking my picture...

Nearly every picture of the wedding itself was either blurry or .... well, blurry - so here's the best picture. The happy couple!

And now... the fun. The reception was held at a beautiful estate with fountains and gazebos and statues oh My!

And here's the ice sculpute with the couples initials carved inside. No expense was spared on my Uncle's behalf to make this night the most memorable and spectacular for all of the guests.

The dessert buffet was incredible. ANYTHING that can be considered a dessert was at this buffet. Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies to candied fruit, waffles to flaming cherries jubilee, chocolate fountains to an ice cream sundae. Cheesecake, flan, etc etc etc.

And we had it all...

New York New York

Let's see how many "New York" things we can do in ONE day. Ready, set, GO!

See a Broadway musical

Hanging out in Time Square

Enjoying a real New york City hot dog.

Riding the Subway

Visit the Empire State bulding

This is my family walking the last 6 floors to the viewing platform. Why couldn't they just have the elevator go all the way up. C'mon!

The climb was definitely worth the view. A beautiful night with a beautiful girl.

What an exhausting trip. We had so much fun but look forward to the day when we can come back to New York and spend some quality time in the city that never sleeps. Congratulations to Vartan and Talene Balian. Thanks for the memories.
