CMDA Senior Send-off

Over the past three years, Cheryl and I have been part of the USC school of Dentistry's Christian Medical Dental Association (CMDA).  This group of friends have been a second family to both Cheryl and I and we have enjoyed the weekly bible studies and extra-curricular activities such a beach BBQs, nature hikes, and missions trips.  During my last year at USC, I was asked to lead worship every week and have found the responsibility both challenging and rewarding. Every year we have thrown a farewell party for the graduation class and I still can't believe its now my turn to be the one saying goodbye.  I attribute a good part of my success in dental school to this group of people who always challenged me to put God first in my life and use the example of His Son, Jesus, and how He gave selflessly to those around Him, as the cornerstone of my career as a dental professional.  It takes a tremendous amount of patience and compassion to be a truly amazing healthcare provider, and without CMDA, I fear I would have started down the path of entitlement and eventually ended up as just another scrooge in this world.

Cheryl's incredible cupcake skills.  Go Trojans!

Having some great fellowship.

Terence and Mike.

Worshiping to one of my favorite songs, From the inside Out/Everlasting.

Kenji and Liane.  What's so funny?

Oh that's right, the Juniors also get to "roast" the Seniors.

Of course, John Weins calls me up to the bench.

Mike Silva had some very touching words for Steve.

Jeff and Andy.

Allison was sweet enough to call Cheryl up and reminisce on some fond memories.

Lastly, the reason why we are all here - preach it Kenji.

Mike C, Cerisa, Steve, John, Jeff and Mike S.

All the Seniors with little journals filled words of
encouragement and congratulations by CMDA members.
What an incredible blessing to be surrounded by such great friends and fellow followers of Christ.  God knew exactly what He was doing when he placed both Cheryl and I at USC.

It was so sweet of them to include me in the "Senior Send Off." What a great few years we had with everyone there and I will always cherish the memories we have of you leading worship. I know that even if you "fail a thousand times" you'll always get back up and keep trying.
