25th Birthday

I am a quarter of a century old. Although I don't feel any older than I did yesterday, it seems as if the realization of my 25 years of life have waited to set-in until the very moment I blew out the candles. A whirlwind of emotions and memories flood my brain and I am left with an excessively sentimental yearning for a return to the past; some call it nostalgic. How ironic. The gated community in Stockton I lived in for a few years, and consequently have the most memorable experiences from, was called Nostalgia. I guess what I'm trying to say is; As far as 25 year-olds go, I have been blessed with so many accomplishments and so many good memories. As cliche as it may be, birthdays are the perfect opportunity to reflect on where you are in life and from where you've come. It's been a long hard road, but I'm enjoying every step of it.

L to R: Jacque, Gina, Cheryl, Troy, Birthday Boy, Shaheen, Kenji, Liane, and Yazan.
Not Pictured: Michael (we'll forgive you this time)

To celebrate my birthday, Cheryl threw a party for me and some of our closest friends. We had a Mexican feast, complete with margaritas, and topped it all off with some pink lemonade pie and ice cream cake. Everyone had a wonderful time and it's a shame we can't get together as friends and have a good time more often - but hey, this is dental school right?

My boy Kenji and I enjoying the festive decoration.

The desserts were out-of-this-world. Yeah, those ARE Oreos on my ice cream cake.

Just hangin' out, reading a People magazine.
