Birthday in Long Beach

One of the few places in SoCal that Cheryl and i haven't visited yet was Long Beach. Since I have been wanting to go to The Aquarium of the Pacific, this seemed like a perfect opportunity to visit. My Birthday started off with some aquarium-themed cupcakes and presents.

Since cupcakes aren't the healthiest breakfast meal, I decided to share the treats with some close friends at school during lunch.

The following weekend, Cheryl and I made our way to the Aquarium of the Pacific, formely known as the Long Beach Aquarium.

Beautiful soft coral in the tropical section of the aquarium.

The 142,000 gallon Southern California/Baja tank. These fish are big, and ugly too.

Next up, the 211,000 gallon Seal and Sea Lion exhibit. These guys were a blast.

Up next, one of my favorite exhibit of the day: The Shark Lagoon.

Touching a giant stingray.

Sea Snakes with an interesting way of fighting the oceans current.

Seeing this giant crab makes me want to watch Deadliest Catch.

Another awesome creature from the Pacific Northwest Exhibit.

My favorite exhibit: The Tropical Pacific Gallery

The weirdest looking fish I've ever seen.

A seahorse taking a nap.

Feeding time in the tropical tank.

The Long Beach Lighthouse.

The Queen Mary. Hopefully the next time we come to Long Beach we can have dinner on the ship.

The beautiful Long Beach waterfront. We'll have to make another trip out here and spend a little more time in this beautiful city.
