San Juan Capistrano

This Veteran's Day Cheryls parents came into town for the extended weekend.  With the extra time, we decided to take a road trip down to San Juan Capistrano for the day.  To be honest with you, this entire weekend was a haze.  I came down with the most wicked bug a few days before her parents arrived (104 degree temp for 3 days straight) and was nearly catatonic for nearly half the weekend.  As a matter of fact, more than 50% of these pictures were taken by Cheryl - not including the above picture of these beautiful glass wind chimes, that was my handiwork ;)  So without further ado: San Juan Capistrano
Cheryl and Susie enjoying the beautiful weather.

A quaint mexican restaurant with a very cool basement dining area.

This was the only way into the private dining room.  It once served as a jail cell - if you didn't notice.

Apparently as they were walking (and I was sleeping in the car) Tom smacked his head on a low hanging cactus.  LOL!

Cute picture of Tom and Susie infront of a picturesque cottage-styled home.

A marker symbolizing a part of El Camino Real, the Royal Road, that connects the 21 missions of California.

And here is the Mission of San Juan Capistrano.

An example of the cute homes found in this quiet little city.

A huge cactus bush in the sunset.

Don't worry, we didn't even think about it.

A great way to end the day enjoying the Veteran's day street fair in San Juan Capistrano.
The day after our little day trip, Tom asked me if I wanted to go check out a boat showing in Marina Del Rey.  Feeling a little better than yesterday, I grabbed the camera and jumped in the car.  Although they were only showing one boat in particular, I enjoyed the fresh air and Tom had his fill of nautical talk. :)

The 35 foot Catalina 355 - She was a beauty

Ahoy ye bilge rats.  Hoist the main sail and keep a keen eye on the boom and baggy wrinkles.
