In the Blink of an Eye

You don't truly appreciate the capabilities of your body until it's full ability has been engaged. Allow me to explain. Before either Cheryl or I realized what was happening, it happened; yet I was still able to avoid a head on collision. As the behemoth vehicle began its journey across my direction of travel (they were coming from the oppossite direction and turning left infront of us) I swerved wide, barely hitting the front left bumper of the expedition. It caught the front left quarter panel (just behind the headlight) and proceeded to crush every panel on the entire left side of our little yaris - clear back to the tail light. The impact gave both Cheryl and I horizontal whiplash, worse than being rear-ended, and cause me to bang my head into the drivers side window. Fortunately, the glass didn't shatter, the airbags didn't deploy, meaning it wasn't a head-on collision, and Cheryl and I are on the fast track to recovery. All I remember seeing is the driver's side-view mirror explode and hearing the sound of crushed steel. It all happend in the blink of an eye.

Thank you God for protecting us.
